Frequently Asked Questions
Do I give up control of my practice?
No. Members remain fully independent and retain complete ownership and decision-making authority.
Is joining the IPA mandatory for insurance participation?
Yes. To access and keep higher-paying contracts, you must remain an IPA member.
Will joining guarantee higher reimbursement rates?
While higher rates cannot be guaranteed, collective leverage increases negotiating strength and contract stability.
Who is this IPA best suited for?
Independent dietitians and group practices seeking stronger payer positioning, long-term sustainability, and shared support.
Do I need to cancel all my existing contracts?
No. You only need to cancel the ones you want to join the IPA under. For example, if you want to keep your individual Aetna contract, but join the IPA to credential with Cigna, that is ok. You won’t cancel contracts until the new one goes into effect.
When will additional services be available?
Administrative, billing, credentialing, mentoring, and networking services will be rolled out as membership grows.
